Christmas time is coming again,it is  the happiest month of my life. Celebrating the birthday of our savior Jesus Christ. Why I fired my Secretary
Last week was my birthday
and I didn’t feel very well
waking up on that morning.

I went downstairs for breakfast
hoping my wife would be pleasant and say,
“Happy Birthday!”,
and possibly have a small present for me.

As it turned out,
she barely said good morning,
let alone
” Happy Birthday.”

I thought…

Well, that’s marriage for you,
but the kids…
They will remember.

My kids came bounding down stairs to breakfast
and didn’t say a word.
So when I left for the office,
I felt pretty low
and somewhat despondent.

As I walked into my office,
my secretary Jane said,
“Good Morning Boss,
and by the way
Happy Birthday ! “
It felt a little better
that at least someone had remembered..

I worked until one o’clock ,
when Jane knocked on my door
and said, “You know,
It’s such a beautiful day outside,
and it is your Birthday,
what do you say we go out to lunch,
just you and me.”
I said, “Thanks, Jane,
that’s the greatest thing
I’ve heard all day.
Let’s go !”

We went to lunch.
But we didn’t go
where we normally would go.
She chose instead at a quiet bistro
with a private table.
We had two martinis each
and I enjoyed the meal tremendously.

On the way back to the office,
Jane said, “You know,
It’s such a beautiful day…
We don’t need to go straight back to the office,
Do We ?”

I responded,
“I guess not.
What do you have in mind ?”
She said,
“Let’s drop by my apartment,
it’s just around the corner.”

After arriving at her apartment,
Jane turned to me and said,
” Boss, if you don’t mind,
I’m going to step into the bedroom
for just a moment.
I’ll be right back.”
“Ok..” I nervously replied.

She went into the bedroom and,
after a couple of minutes,
she came out
carrying a huge birthday cake …

all singing “Happy Birthday”.

Love Story from China

An incredible  love story has come out of China recently and managed to touch the world.. It  is a story of a man and an older woman who ran off to live and love each other  in peace for over half a century.

The 70-year-old Chinese man who hand-carved over 6,000 stairs up a mountain for his
80-year-old wife has passed away in the cave which has been the couple’s home for the last
50 years.Over 50  years ago, Liu Guojiang a 19 year-old boy, fell in love with a 29 year-old
widowed  mother named Xu Chaoqin…

In a twist worthy of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, friends and relatives criticized
the relationship because of the age difference and the fact that Xu already had children.

At that time, it was unacceptable and immoral for a young man  to love
an older woman.. To avoid the market gossip and the scorn of their communities,
the couple decided to  elope and lived in a cave in Jiangjin County
in Southern ChongQing Municipality .

In the beginning, life was harsh as hey had nothing, no electricity or even food.
They had to eat grass and roots they found in the mountain, and Liu made a
kerosene lamp that they used to light up their lives.  

Xu felt that she had tied Liu down and repeatedly asked him, ‘Are you regretful?
Liu always replied, ‘As long as we are industrious, life will improve..’

Half a century later in 2001, a group of adventurers were  exploring the forest and
were surprised to find the elderly couple and the  over 6,000 hand-carved steps.
Liu MingSheng,  one of their seven children said, ‘My parents loved each other so much,
they  have lived in seclusion for over 50 years and never been apart a single day.
He hand carved more than 6,000 steps over the years for my mother’s  convenience,
although she doesn’t go down the mountain that  much.’

The couple had  lived in peace for over 50 years until last week. Liu, now 72 years,
returned  from his daily farm work and collapsed. Xu sat and prayed with her husband as
he passed away in her arms. So in love with Xu, was Liu, that no one was able  to release the grip he had
on his wife’s hand even after he had passed away.  

In 2006, their story became one of the top 10 love stories from China , collected by the
Chinese Women Weekly. The local government has decided to  preserve the love ladder
and the place they lived as a museum, so this love  story can live forever.

Sometimes we close our eyes and just listen to the echoes of our hearts. We all fall inlove and there are times that we love so much that we lose ourselves in our own emotions. More often than not we wonder why there are love that grows and love that grows gold. We would start to search for answers and try to find where love was gone wrong but in the end we find ourselves where we started. We cannot question love when it has its own reasons. Love will always be as it always has been silent, mysterious, and deeply profound. Many of us believe that love is forever, that love never dies. Only to be the solution in the end when we find our hands empty and our hearts longing. We mistakenly have looked that love as a need to be fulfilled. But love is only a gift given to us. We should not hold it in our hands for we may never find our strength to let it go when it decides to leave. We should only embrace its warmth and glow while it lasts and then freely open our arms when its time to say goodbye. When we fall inlove with someone we don’t want that feeling to end for it is everything we are and everything that we wanted to be. We pray that love will stay and grow in our hearts. But if it doesn’t then we should never let our lives be taken by it, for life should not end where heartaches begin. There’s always a reason why we have to move on. When we have to say goodbye to the feelings we wanted to stay forever let us not wave our hands with a heavy heart. For love will have to set its wings free and find the place where it belongs. We may have losts it but then again when we close our eyes and listen to the echoes of our hearts we will hear that feeling resounding silently forever.  I’m as bad as it can get and good as it can be. It’s not easy but it’s ok. If they appreciate me thank you if not that would definitely accepted, I will thank you still. Lenten Season

Holy Week is the final week of Lent.  It commemorates the events of our Lord’s last week before His death.  The chief festivals of Holy Week are Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Great Vigil (Holy Saturday).  Holy Week, together with Easter, is the most sacred part of the Christian calendar — the celebration of the death and resurrection Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. 

My Holy Week this year is full of unexplained feelings, so many things that happened. Sad and Happy moments, but what important is the true meaning of Holy Week. Let our hearts feel the love, peace, and forgiveness for each other. Live, learn, crush and burn…

Things happened are unpredictable, unstable yet understandable. Sometimes we never know we let the things pass on our way. We don’t often see its importance until it was gone. So appreciate the things ought to be appreciated.
